W 2009 roku w północnym Londynie powstał 9-kondygnacyjny budynek mieszkalny, wykonany z drewna. Budynek jest energooszczędny, dzięki odpowiedniemu ociepleniu, zastosowaniu między innymi wentylacji mechanicznej z odzyskiem ciepła (odzysk na poziomie 70%) oraz zatasowaniu paneli fotowoltaicznych umieszonych na dachu. Nic więc dziwnego, że wszystkie 29 apartamenty zostały wyprzedane w ciągu zaledwie godziny! Niewątpliwie, budowa wielokondygnacyjnego budynku w technologii drewnianej stanowi impuls dla architektów, inżynierów do ulepszaniu technologii, aby w przyszłości stawiać jeszcze wyższe i oczywiście bezpieczne budynki z materiału jakim jest drewno.
